Secureworks Announces Enhanced Support of Google Cloud Platform and SaaS Applications

Companies of all sizes can better detect and respond to attacks targeting their critical business assets across the world’s top three business cloud providers

ATLANTA, Ga – Secureworks® (NASDAQ: SCWX), a global leader in cybersecurity, announced today that organizations using Secureworks Taegis XDR™ can now defend critical data from cyberattacks across the world's three biggest cloud platforms. Adding telemetry from devices running in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and integration with key Google Workspace logs means that Taegis™ XDR supports organizations' digital growth whether they run on GCP, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, have a multi-cloud or hybrid strategy.

“Support for Google Cloud and Google Workspace is another important step in our open XDR strategy,” said Mike Aiello, Chief Technology Officer, Secureworks. “Our customers are now able to combine this cloud security telemetry with Taegis' hundreds of integrations and response actions across our platform, all delivered through a single pane of glass.”

As of March 2022, 60% of corporate data resides in the cloud and further research indicates that 90% have a multi-cloud strategy, making the cloud a treasure trove for adversaries. Secureworks extended support for Google environments enhances alert visibility and traceability, delivering a simplified workflow for SOC analysts. This reduces the time to investigate alerts from Google Cloud and Google Workspace when flagged by Taegis. Customers can ingest data from sources in the GCP environment, which Taegis then normalizes for use with a broad range of detectors in search of known and unknown threats, enabling context and enrichment capabilities for investigating and responding to identified threats.

Google Workspace office suite controls over 50% of worldwide market share for major office suite technologies. Telemetry from Google Workspace logs can be analyzed and traced back to establish, for example, the origin of a ransomware attack, and which user clicked where within the Google environment.

“With Securework's proprietary Taegis platform data showing that 54% of cyberattacks now start in the cloud, companies can't afford to have blind spots across their cloud infrastructure,” said Kyle Falkenhagen, Vice President, Product Management, Secureworks. “With today's announcement, we are helping companies of all sizes around the world bolster their cloud security posture.”

All Taegis XDR customers, and MDR customers using Taegis ManagedXDR, have full access to Secureworks support of Google Cloud. Beyond what has been announced today, Secureworks plans not only to enhance its integration across other Google applications but additional SaaS applications throughout 2023, adding to the hundreds of integrations already available.
